What is a Newborn Lifestyle session?
Lifestyle sessions are all about capturing the newborn in their new environment with their family. My goal with newborn lifestyle photography is for you to look at the images and be brought back to the moment you brought baby home. I 100% believe those “first moments” should be documented because of the excitement, emotions, and love that a new baby brings.
What type of photos will I receive?
I will be taking a journalistic photography approach during your session. This means there will be minimal “posed” shots and I will take photos of you interacting with your new baby, the environment, and the details that surround you. I will guide you and direct you but think of this session as capturing you at the moment.
How long is the session?
Approximately 60-90 minutes long.
Will the baby get solo photos?
Of course, we will get photos of baby solo, but we will also capture the emotions and connections between parents and baby and big siblings loving on their new best friend!
What should baby wear? What should the family wear?
Baby should wear something simple (minimal lettering, minimal patterns) I also like to do photos of baby in a solid colored onesie. For girls, feel free to put a simple headband on her. For the family, I suggest solid, neutral colors. If you’d like to mix in a pattern or two, that is fine as well! If you have any questions about wardrobe, please ask me and I can help you choose what to wear.
How soon after the baby arrives is the best time to take photos?
For lifestyle sessions, they are best before the baby is 14 days old.
Where will the session take place?
Wherever the most natural light is in your home! Most of the session will most likely be in the main living space and/or the nursery.
How soon should we book our session?
As soon as you decide you would like a lifestyle session, email me and we will set up a potential date for your session. I take a limited amount of newborn sessions, so please keep this in mind.
Will my photos be private?
In my contract, I have a general release stating that I can use images from your session in my portfolio, social media, and advertising. If you would prefer to have your images stay private, just let me know and I will alter the contract.

Yay! I am so excited to capture your special moment!! Please send me a message below and I will send you a contract and an invoice that requires a 50% down payment to reserve your date. Following this, I will send you a questionnaire so I can get to know you a little better.
